first_imgTHE Aloe hotel in Paphos is under new ownership and about to undergo a major revamp and scheduled to open in Spring 2019.According to new owners, Thanos Hotels and Resorts, the new property is the fourth Cypriot hotel for the group, which will undergo a major refurbishment during winter 2018.The Thanos Hotel group is a luxury hotel specialist and already owns and manages the Anassa, Almyra, and Annabelle hotels. All four hotels are in Paphos.“The hotel has an excellent location close to the group’s much loved Almyra and Annabelle hotels which are walking distance away,” a spokesman for the hotel group said.The Aloe is located on Poseidonos Avenue, in the tourist area of the coastal town and comprises of 272 rooms, 3 restaurants, 3 pools (one indoor) and is only 200 meters from the nearest beach.With the new acquisition, the Thanos Hotel group will operate 840 rooms across its four hotels in Cyprus. The company is family owned and run and was founded 40 years ago by the late Alecos Michaelides, his son Thanos Michaelides is now Managing Director.Cyprus tourism has shown significant growth in the past two years, which is forecast to continue.Last year was a record year for the island reaching 3.1 million arrivals, a 17 per cent increase year on year.For 2017, flight capacity to Cyprus has increased by approximately 300,000 compared to 2016 and we are expecting our own record year this year, with bookings already up by 20 per cent.The Aloe will be relaunched and offer another unique choice for holidaymakers, said the spokesman.
