Phish’s Jon Fishman Will Perform With Members Of Particle, Dopapod & More For Campaign Event

first_imgYesterday, we reported on a Bernie Sanders campaign event featuring Phish drummer Jon Fishman, scheduled to take place tonight in Philadelphia, PA. Today we’ve learned some more information about the event, as Fishman will play with some all-stars from the Philly jam scene to help rock the vote.At North Bowl tonight, Fishman will perform with a number of special guests, including Eli Winderman (Dopapod), Joe Baldacci (Muscle Tough), Ross Bellenoit (Muscle Tough), Jon Coleman (Muscle Tough), Clay Parnell (Particle), and Ian McGuire (CIA). There will also by support from local DJ Risky Disko. The festivities are set to run from 9pm to midnight, with the Sanders website calling this “a voter registration drive like you’ve never seen.”The deadline to register for voting in the Pennsylvania primary is tonight, which would explain the strong showing from Fishman in the state’s major city. However, London-based Global Gaming Ventures contested the decision, stating that its bid had been unfairly rejected by the council as unlike Aspers it had already secured building permission for its site at the Hammerson shopping development.Last week the UK High Court ruled in favour of the City Council’s initial ruling for Aspers to win the casino contract. The decision allows for Aspers to build its fifth casino enterprise, adding to its existing properties of Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Stratford and Northampton.Aspers’ new venue will feature approximately 150 slot machines with 30 casino game tables, a dining room area, live entertainment suite and multiple bars.
